The real risk

You cannot fully verify a supplier remotely.

Every buyer receives polished presentations, clean factory photos, certifications, references and sales promises. None of that guarantees how the supplier actually performs once production begins.

The factory you visited may not be the one producing your order.

Subcontracting is common. The facility shown during the sales process may not be the facility fulfilling production once the order begins. That changes quality control, compliance, lead times and operational accountability — without the buyer knowing.

Certifications may exist while operational standards decline.

A valid certification does not always reflect current operating conditions. Processes change. Teams change. Standards drift. Documentation alone rarely gives full visibility into actual execution quality.

How is this different from a standard factory audit?

Standard audits are scheduled in advance, follow a fixed checklist and are often known about by the factory days ahead. We operate with a buyer-first lens, not a compliance lens. Foundry Live™ is unscripted, real-time and designed to surface what a prepared factory wouldn’t show an auditor.

Do you need to be invited by the supplier?

For Foundry Live™ on an existing supplier, yes — you or we make the introduction. For Supplier Selection™, we identify and approach suppliers on your behalf as part of the process. Either way, we control the framing so the factory doesn’t know it’s a buyer-side verification.

What if the factory fails the verification?

That’s exactly the outcome the service is designed to deliver. Knowing before you commit is the entire point. If a factory fails, you get a clear written report on why, what the specific risks are, and — if you want — we can begin Supplier Selection™ to find a verified alternative.

What categories do you cover?

Light manufacturing, furniture, homeware, consumer goods, packaging, food and agricultural products including coffee, seafood and processed foods. If you’re unsure whether your category is covered, the discovery call is the right place to find out.

How is the timeline determined?

Timeline is scoped at kickoff based on your category, the number of suppliers to assess and access logistics. For Foundry Live™ on an existing supplier, this is typically a matter of days. Supplier Selection™ runs longer given the discovery and shortlisting stages. You’ll have a clear timeline before anything starts.

Are you a sourcing agent?

No. Sourcing agents represent factories and earn commissions on deals. We work exclusively on the buyer side. We are paid by you, not by the supplier. Our job is to help you make the right decision — including telling you when a supplier isn’t right — not to close a deal.
